Faith Based Abuse

Harm or abuse inflicted on a child under the guise of religious or spiritual beliefs, such as FGM or forced marriage.

Female Genital Mutilation - Confirmed

A medical or professional confirmation that a female has undergone Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a procedure involving the partial or total removal of external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

Female Genital Mutilation - Suspected

A concern or suspicion that a female has undergone, or is at risk of undergoing, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Forced/Early Marriage

Marriage where one or both parties have not given their full and free consent, or where one or both parties are under the age of 18. This is a form of abuse and a safeguarding concern.

Honour-Based Abuse

A crime or incident committed to protect or defend the honour of the family and/or community. This can include forced marriage, FGM, or violence.
